Standing at almost 310 metres, The Shard is one of the tallest buildings in Western Europe. The viewing platform at the Shard is a `must-visit` for Londoners and indeed tourists, offering breath taking views that stretch 40 miles out across London and beyond.
The architect required a support system that delivered perfect levelling for this iconic site, and the obvious choice was the Buzon DPH pedestal system. The end result was a millimetre perfect installation, laid onto falling insulation.
The second criteria was the ability to support high live loads due to the heavy foot traffic, and with the DPH offering in excess of two tons per pedestal…the problem was solved.
